BovINEThe technical conference of the BovINE project was held on 12 May 2022 at the experimental farm of La Garcipollera, in Bescós (Huesca), Spain. A total of 39 people from different professions, such as farmers, technicians, researchers and students participated in the event. The day aimed to present innovations for the “Optimizing the number of calves per cow per year in suckler beef herds“, one of the priority topics of the thematic area Efficiency in Production & Meat Quality in the second year of the project (2021).
After the presentation of the BovINE project and the conference (Virginia Resconi, University of Zaragoza), two researchers from the Centro de Investigación y Tecnología Agroalimentaria de Aragón (CITA): Albina Sanz and Agustí Noya and a researcher from the Servicio Regional de Investigación y Desarrollo Agroalimentario (SERIDA): José A. García Paloma, presented the results of several years of research in relation to the management of suckler cows and breeding bulls.

Furthermore, there was a tour through the farm, observing the animals and the facilities, where speakers and participants shared different opinions on the proposed innovations and their application in practice.

El 12 de mayo de 2022 se realizó la Jornada técnica del proyecto BovINE en la finca experimental de La Garcipollera, en Bescós (Huesca), España. La jornada contó con la participación total de 39 personas de diversas profesiones, como ganaderos, técnicos, investigadores y estudiantes. El objetivo de la jornada fue presentar innovaciones para la “Optimización del número de terneros por vaca y año en los rebaños de vacas nodrizas”, uno de los temas prioritarios del área temática Eficiencia en la Producción & Calidad de Carne del segundo año del proyecto (2021).
Tras la presentación del proyecto BovINE (Virginia Resconi, Universidad de Zaragoza), dos investigadores del Centro de Investigación y Tecnología Agroalimentaria de Aragón (CITA): Albina Sanz y Agustí Noya y un investigador del Servicio Regional de Investigación y Desarrollo Agroalimentario (SERIDA): José A. García Paloma, presentaron resultados de varios años de investigación en relación al manejo de la vaca nodriza y del toro reproductor.

Además, se realizó una visita por la granja, observando los animales y las instalaciones, donde los ponentes y participantes compartieron distintas opiniones sobre las innovaciones propuestas y su aplicación en la práctica.
